[Week's Events #17]Seafood🐟🦐

Hi! I will write wbout this week. I have been eating just meat lately, so I wanted to eat seafood this week. Then, I enjoyed cooking and eating seafood. I will introduce two dishes.   Salmon rice bowl First, I ate the soy sauce marinated salmon sashimi rice bowl. Sashimi is Japanese dish of thinly sliced raw fish. I marinated sliced salmon in sauce which mainly saoy sauce, Mirin(sweet cooking sake) and sesami oil mixed, and leave the salmon out overnight. And then, the sauce soak into the salmon when I ate and it was delicious!  Mayonnaise shrimp Second, I ate the mayonnaise shrimp which is fried shrimp with mayonnaise sauce and usually called "Ebi Mayo" in Japan. I mixed mainly mayonnaise, ketchup, sugar, salt and pepper, and made the sauce. Then, I put the sauce on shrimp which I peeled and fried with starch. It took time and to peel shrimp, but I was happy with delicious mayonnaise shrimp. The shrimp went well with the sauce.  Have you ever cooked and eaten these?...

How are you doing in winter? What do you think about winter in Niigata? I think winter in Niigata is very cold with a lot of snow and strong wind. I have lived and experienced the cold in Niigata. Also, many people use a heater with high temperature, and they usually pay high electric bills in winter. I have a good idea that will help you from these problems! The idea is way of making warm room by improving window and doesn't use more electricity. My mother told me it when I feel cold last fall. She likes doing "DIY" means to make or build something by myself, so she knew good way that I make by myself. It was easy to improve the window and I could do it by myself as well. I always feel warm in my room that is improved the window and it helps me in winter.  Therefore, I'd like to introduce this way to you who will spend the winter in Niigata. [Week's Events #16]Strawberry🍓

Hi! I will write about this week.  I see that various stores have been selling many products about strawberry lately. I ate two sweets of strawberry this week. Strawberry ice cream First, I ate the Häagen-Dazs ice cream named "Strawberry Truffle". It is a limited time product. I found it at a supermarket. It was rich and creamy ice cream. The rich and creamy strawberry ice cream went well with sweet and sour strawberry sauce! It also had crispy chocolate chips were good texture! I had not been able to eat Häagen-Dazs ice cream recently. I realized again that the ice cream is very tasty! Strawberry chocolate Second, I ate the strawberry chocolate. I bought it at FamilyMart. FamilyMart have been holding strawberry fair since January 9. It was started to release then. I thought it looks cute and bought. Freeze-dry strawberries were coated with strawberry chocolate and white chocolate. The chocolates were sweet. The freeze-dry strawberries were sweet and sour, and a little tough ...

[Week's Events #15]Enjoy Cooking🍳

Hi, I will write about this week.  I enjoyed cooking and introduce one dish I made this week.  Mayakutamago I cooked "Mayakutamago" which is soft-boiled egg marinated in special soy sauce and originated in Korea. I had a lot of eggs and was thinking what to make, then I remembered my brother used to cook it and tried cooking it. I used soy sauce, water, sugar, tube of garlic, white sesame seeds, redo hot pepper and green onion in special sauce. I put soft-boiled eggs in it and marinated it overnight. I cooked it for the first time and did well. I put the egg with the sauce on rice and ate it. The egg was that the flavor of the sauce was soaked in well. It also has runny yolk and it was delicious! Eggs marinated in special sauce Have you ever made "Mayakutamago"? There are many recipes online and we can cook it easily. I recommend cooking it! Thank you for reading!

[Week's Events #14]Eating Cakes🍰

Hi! I will write about this week.     Chocorate cake I had the chocorate cake on this Monday. My mother made it. She likes making cakes and sweets. She often makes them on her holiday, so I can eat cake even if it's not special days such as birthday. The chocorate cake was 21cm diameter whole cake and so big! I had it with my family. My mother said, "I think I made a little mistake in making the cake sponge." But, I didn't think so, and the sponge was soft. It was delicious chocolate cake! My family also enjoyed eating it.  Strawberry sponge cake Also, though last week, my mother made the strawberry sponge cake. The cream was not too sweet and I liked it. It was also big and delicious!  I enjoyed eating cakes during winter vacation because my mother often made the cakes. I think it is difficult to make cakes by myself, but she made them well, so I thought she is great. I have never make cakes by myself, so I'd like to learn how to make them from her sometime!...

Happy New Year! How have you been spending New Year's day? I spent with my family and relatives this week in my hometown. Then, I ate a lot of delicious foods. I will write about them.  Ozoni First, I ate Ozoni that is Japanese traditional soup with mochi and eaten for New Year's day. My home's ozoni has mochi, zenmai that is one of wild vegetables, Japanese white radish, carrot, konnyaku and chikuwa. The ozoni's recipe and taste has been passed down for generations. I think the taste and ingredients are differnt in other regions and families, so I'm curious to know waht kind of ozoni is eaten in your homes!  Ikura Next, I ate salmon roe that is called ikura in Japan many times this week. I like ikura very much but it is expensive, so my mother dosen't usually buy it. However, my father bought a lot of ikura especially for New Year's.
